Our founder Steve has always been into model rocketry. When he was young, he used to launch rockets with his dad in Cub Scouts. He would even bring some along while they went ice-fishing together, with plenty of open space to launch on top of the frozen lake.

As tends to happen as we get older, Steve’s interests shifted and rocketry fell by the wayside a bit. Never letting the passion completely die, he managed a few launches as a young adult. But his interest in the hobby was renewed completely in 2019, as the result of a chance flea market rocket deal and a nearby hobby shop that was closing. Through this connection, he found CATO Rocketry Club, and now launches monthly with the club, and whenever he can in between.

With over 75 ready-to-launch models in his fleet, Steve tried his hand at designing his own rockets and quickly found that others in rocketry groups and forums loved his designs. Thus, due to popular demand, Launch Lab Rocketry was formed in 2020! We are thrilled to be handcrafting high-quality rocket kits, and hope you enjoy our exciting and fun designs as much as we do.
